Introduction

External beam radiotherapy is performed with ionizing radiation focussed on the target. Commonly photons in form of X-rays and Gamma Rays are used for this purpose. When we use charge particles like Hydrogen Ion or Carbon ion its called Particle therapy.  The Charged particle are accelerated in large accelerators and the focussed on the target structure to produce biological effect or treat cancer. The charged particles may be hydrogen, Helium or carbon ion. Its also called Hadron Therapy. Neutrons are produced from nuclear reactor and used for treating large tumors.
